Because, I guess nothing says "I cherish you" quite like a mass-produced greeting card and a panic-bought bouquet at 5 PM.
Of course, the history of Valentine’s Day is a bit more poetic.
Some say it’s linked to Saint Valentine, a Roman priest who secretly married couples when Emperor Claudius II outlawed it. Others claim it was a clever way for medieval poets to turn mid-February into a season of courtly love.
But let’s be honest if St. Valentine could see the heart-shaped madness we've turned this into; he’d probably roll his eyes and order a single malt instead.
That said, while cliché Valentine’s celebrations may not be for everyone (for me, they’re absolutely not), what about escaping to an incredible, hidden romantic destination?
Now, that’s a love story worth investing in.
Forget the overpriced roses; this year, we’re all about breathtaking views, secluded escapes, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences (which, incidentally, don’t come in pink foil packaging).
